
HOW IS A PROJECT ORGANIZED
The congregation submits an application to Labourers For Christ for their
assistance with their project. Once approved, and after the congregation’s plans
are finalized, a Preconstruction Planner is available to help arrange for
procurement of materials and subcontractors, finalize the construction budget,
and prepare the documents required by the construction leader.
The congregation may supply their own Construction Supervisor or they can employ a Construction Supervisor from the Labourers For
Christ roster who will command the project. He schedules the material delivery,
subcontractors and daily activity.
In addition to the Construction Supervisor, a list of rostered members from LFC
who have expressed a willingness to work for the congregation are forwarded to
the congregation and from this list they hire, at minimum wage, the LFC rostered
workers. Spouses not involved in the construction often volunteer their time to
help the congregation with Vacation Bible School, Choir, Bible Studies, potluck
meals, snacks for the crews and running errands. Many volunteers from the
congregation are an essential requirement for successful completion of the project.
